Founder/President and CEO
Hugh Narciso has more than 20 years of medical-device and pharmaceutical development experience with an emphasis on establishing and building venture-funded start-up companies. Prior to founding BAROnova® in 2006, he held senior executive positions or served on the board of directors at a variety of companies including Leptos Biomedical, Inc. (COO), Lambda Pharmaceuticals (board member), Corvascular Surgical Systems, Inc. (COO/VP, Research and Development), and Miravant Medical Technologies (VP, Product Development). Mr. Narciso is a named inventor on more than 25 U.S. patents and on a comparable number of international patents.
KOBI IKI, M.S.
Vice President, Research and Product Development
Kobi Iki has more than 15 years of experience in the medical-device industry directing research programs in oncology, cardiovascular, orthopedics and obesity. Before joining BAROnova, he served as the Vice President of Research for Leptos Biomedical, a company developing a neuromodulation therapy for obesity. Prior to that, Mr. Iki held various management and senior executive positions of increasing responsibility at Vascular Architects, Smith + Nephew Endoscopy/Oratec Interventions, Corvasular and Miravant Medical Technologies.
SEPTEMBER RIHARB
Vice President, Marketing
September Riharb brings 20 years of medical-device-marketing experience in public and start-up companies to BAROnova. She most recently served as Allergan’s Senior Director of Global Marketing focused on obesity (formerly Inamed Health). Ms. Riharb is one of the early marketing executives in the field of obesity and is credited with championing the market development of the world leading LAP-BAND® Adjustable Gastric Banding System. Prior to joining Inamed in 2002, Ms. Riharb held various management positions of increased responsibility with Circon Corp., McGhan Medical and Computer Motion.
ANDREA KELLY
Director, Quality Assurance
Andrea Kelly brings over 20 years of experience in quality assurance to BAROnova. She has worked in both the medical device and pharmaceutical industries in a variety of senior positions that include Senior Manager of Quality Assurance, Validation Scientist, Biomedical Engineer, and Microbiologist. Ms. Kelly was previously employed by Miravant Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Surgidev Corporation.
CLIFF KLINE
Director, Clinical Operations
Cliff Kline has over 19 years of clinical-research experience working for medical-device companies in the fields of ophthalmology, orthopedics, urology, and aesthetics. He has been employed by Coloplast, Mentor Corporation, Wright Medical Technology, Inc., Ioptex Research, Inc., and Optical Radiation Corporation in various senior positions. At Mentor Corporation, where he served as the Director of Clinical Submissions, he was part of the team responsible for the approval of silicone gel implants.
